Chucho has been creating public art throughout the Chicagoland area for more than 35 years. A longtime resident of Joliet and now based in Plainfield, he has built a career that spans murals, sculptures, mosaics, fine art, and tattooing.

As a member of Friends of Community Public Art, Chucho has completed more than fourteen public art projects, including large-scale murals, sculptures, and mosaics that have enriched communities across the region.

Through Yollocalli, the youth arts education initiative of the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago, Chucho served as a mural instructor for the After School Matters program, founded by Maggie Daley. During his time with the program, he collaborated with young artists to complete five mural projects throughout Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood.

The National Museum of Mexican Art also features one of Chucho’s major works in its permanent collection, recognizing his lasting contribution to the city’s cultural landscape.

Beyond public art, Chucho has been a featured artist at numerous art festivals across the United States. His work has been showcased in multiple tattoo publications, earning him three major interviews, and has also appeared in graffiti and hip-hop books and magazines.

Today, Chucho continues to create original artwork while working as a tattoo artist in Plainfield, where he remains dedicated to producing meaningful art that inspires and connects with the community.
